10 no spend days & a mistake

August 24th, 2007 at 06:38 pm

Yesterday was No Spend Day # 10 for the month. I’m almost at my 13 no spending days for the month goal!

I’ve been overspending in the grocery category, stocking up on healthier foods. But its all good.

I’m still waiting on my electric bill, I want to see where I stand. And I hate waiting.

Today I packed breakfast & lunch for work, but I’m going to have to buy something for dinner.

I’ve been working out a little every day since last Friday. Last night, I was only able to get in 15 minutes of Tae Bo, but a little is better than nothing J

I made a mistake on which paycheck would have the 3 weeks of OT in the check. I thought it was August 30th, but its actually September 30th. So that’s when I plan to send $1,000.00 from that check towards that student loan. In the meantime, I’m keeping with my goal of at least $1,000.00/month or an average of $500.00 a paycheck going towards that student loan. I already paid $400.00 towards it this month, so I plan on getting at least $600.00 towards it out of the 30th’s paycheck.

HouseHopeful: Since I pay my utilitiy bills online, I can go to the website and see how much my bills are before they get to me. I especially need to know this because of my electric bill that arrives at the end of the month and usually is the crazy one that can be all over the place. If you see when your read date is, you can go the next day and check your account and see what your bill will be. This has been a tremendous help for me.

Aleta, Thanks so much for the idea. Thats exactly what I'm waiting on. They usually read my meter between the 20th & 23rd, then it'll show up online a day or 2 after. So I keep checking online Smile I love the online feature for the same reason as you... the mail takes to long to give enough time. Luckily, we can pay online too

Way to go on the NSD.
Looks like we have a lot in common...I was just checking my spending for the month and notice that I went over on the grocery shopping as well, even though I got my dining out down I went over on the groceries. Definately have to work on this next month
I hate waiting for bills also, I am waiting on a statment from my favorite bank,BOA Frown in order to pay my car note. Even though I wrote the check out already, I am waiting on the statement because I do not want any mix ups when it comes to my principal payment

You can also check your BOA account as well online. I check my account also.

    Thanks Aleta
I do check the account online, that is ho I found out they were applying all m extra payments marked principal payment to the interest. Like some one in their right mind would pay interest and not principal
