Snapshot of my spending this month

March 17th, 2008 at 12:48 am

I track every penny spent and have been doing so since January 2007. I was looking at my March spending and thought I'd share. Its been a really conservative month, except for groceries. I've gone a little overboard, but mostly I was stocking up on some REALLY great deals. Like whole-wheat pasta for 67 cents. You really can't beat that!

I've been lucky at having lots of free entertainment with friends and family. And yesterday I even got to enjoy some AWESOME time outside thanks to some nice weather. Most months aren't like this.

That looks good!! May I ask...Why are you buying groceries so often?? Also, do you not have utilities, etc? or was this reporting after those bills were paid in Feb?? Just curious. I think you should feel proud!

I like that, nice and straightforward. I think I'll try doing it that way too!

Today is only the 16th and you had 7 no spend days, that is great

Thanks for the great comments everybody!

    Ray,
I do have utilities & mortgage and they will be paid out this week. All my house expenses get paid out in the second half of the month. I'll be sitting down tonight probably to do them Smile

The reason for the multiple grocery trips is two-fold. I've been changing some things in my diet and went back to get new items to help with that. Plus I was given some info on great deals that I decided to stock up on. Ground turkey at a little over $1.00 per pound, whole wheat pasta was less than a dollar, cheese was 50% off, ect.

So now I'm well stocked & my goal is to get my grocery spending under control.
