got lots of gripes & a few good things (vent)

May 8th, 2007 at 10:45 pm

The last few days have not been the best. I've been feeling sick again. I have been sick for almost a month now! I am tired, pretty much a Ms. CrankyPants all the time and to top it off, my house is in disarray because all I do is work and sleep.

-So I've been sick.
-My neighbors keep parking in my driveway.
-I'm so ANGRY that my neighbors take advantage of me (and that I couldn't confront them at the time) that I couldn't sleep last night.
-I need sleep because I'm sick
-I bought lunch today & since I collected the money for the group& felt bad for the delivery guy, I put in too much money for tip since others tried to stiff him
-This resulted in me overspending for today
-I was so unable to sleep that I went into work even earlier than I would have and now I"m even more tired. And cranky.

Ok, rant done. Sorry. I just needed to get it out.

Just to throw in a few positives:
-Over the weekend, my mom gave me a huge bag of books that she collected from some friends & yard sales. I love free books and my mom always knows where to find them!
-I finally got Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover from the library...which I'm starting tonight
-I haven't turned on the heat in over 2 weeks
-My parents bought me dinner 2x since last Thursday
-I went to my nephew's karate class and he was a huge show off for his Aunt, it was so cute Smile
-There are new episodes of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars on tonight. After which, I plan to go to sleep at exactly 10pm

Why do your neighbors keep parking in your driveway??

We live in townhomes and we all have 2 spaces out front of our house. Since I"m a single woman, and theres only one car in my drive, they use it for their guests whenever they like, although I've asked them not to. Last night I couldn't even park in my OWN driveway because their guests were taking up BOTH my spots! Ugh, I can tell you, just talking about it is making my blood pressure rise! It will NOT be a nice conversation when I talk to them about this.

Wow, how inconsiderate is that! I'd park across the lines until you feel better and can talk to them....lol.

And I'd park behind their guests so they couldn't back out. But that's just me. But yeah, when you do park just park in the middle, if you can, and take up both spots.

I call the toll truck. There was one house in our area which houses too many people and they are always parking in other people drive way. They blocked our once and we knocked on their door asking them to never do it again. They stopped, but one night, I saw a toll truck came to toll their car from another neighbor drive way.

I had the driveway problem once when I used to live in a rented townhouse. I knew who was doing it and tried to get them to stop it, but they wouldn't. Finally, I ended up driving nails through some boards and leaving them laying face up in my driveway. They would come in at night and turn their lights off and park in my spot while I was asleep because the lights would have woken me up. Then when DH got off work there was no place to park. With their lights off they couldn't see the boards until it was too late. No one ever parked there again after the first tire went pop. And DH always knew to move them before parking.

I'd say to go bang on their door no matter what time it is and make them move their cars. If the cars are there too late at night, then wake them up. They're rude enough to park there, you can be rude enough to make them move.

Do you have a homeowner's association? They can probably be fined for what they are doing also.
