Buying Clothes for a Seasonal Part Time Job (yeah right!)

So, (I'm sure you all remember), I'm working a part time job. Its seasonal, so I probably only have about 5 weeks more of work. (Unless they keep me on... Oh please, oh please!) There is an all black dress code. I can wear another color underneath, but the main pieces have to be black.

I have 2 black shirts (that actually fit) & only 1 pair of suitable black pants.

I also have a limited wardrobe for my business casual full time job. And I definately can wear black pants, shirts & sweaters there.

Last week, I used $20 in gift cards (earned with cc points) and a $10 gift card to Old Navy & bought a black long sleeve shirt & sweater ($0 out of pocket).

This week, I had another $10 coupon. I got 2 more black shirts. But couldn't find any pants. ($0 out of pocket)

Next week, I'll have another coupon $10.00, but I'm gonna splurge on NON black clothes Smile

Still, I need another pair of black pants. I could use them at my full time job as well. My seasonal job sells black pants. And I have a 30% off coupon plus 20% employee discount. So this week, I'm going in search of black pants Smile Hopefully for $12.00 or less.

Other than that though, I DO NOT need any more new clothes, regardless of the discount!!

Tonight is my first time off from the ptj this week. I am doing laundry, picking up a little and then heading to a friend's house for a movie Smile

I'm also off tomorrow, and unless I find out my good friend can go get a Christmas tree with me, I'm staying in. Catching up on tv, cleaning the house, making a meal plan. All that fun stuff Smile I need a little couch time! hehe

    I had a retail job once where the bottom always had to be khaki, then you had a polo w/logo in green. I almost NEVER wear khaki or green anymore, hope you don't get too tired of black!

    Wow do I understand!! Smile It is so hard to keep up with everything when you work two (or three) jobs! Definitely go for the vegging!

    lol - my workplace is either all black or chef pants/black top - and I mainly wear black in my down time too (with other colours). i found that it was easiest to just have a set amount of 'work' clothes and to NEVER wear my everyday 'nice' black clothes to work, otherwise they just ended up wearing out quicker and didn't feel as special.

    Have you looked at a thrift shop for the pants? I get a lot of my khaki pants at those shops and the price is right for what I do in them, which is work, spill stuff, etc. lol

    DeniseNTexas raises a good possibility. I have found new (with tags) pants at some second-hand stores that fit perfectly, and it would usually lead me to pay less that 5 bucks! Some people are creeped out by used clothing, but I prefer to pay less and just launder everything well before wearing it. A good second hand store is a treasure trove, and it beats cashing out the retirement annuity for a new wardrobe. I do have to say that you are doing great with the gift cards, though!

    Fern, I live in Delaware. Sorry I didn't reply sooner (I've been sick) I've be happy to talk to someone about it if they would want to though Smile

    And yes, I'm looking at thrift stores too. Its just that I have weird sizing in pants. I DO have a brand/line that I like and i'm going to look into ebay as well.
