finally remembered

Earlier I mentioned a topic I wanted to bring up, but I couldn't remember, well, I finally did!

My work is sponsoring a discounted membership to BJS. There are 2 within 15 minutes of my house. The normal yearly cost is $45.00, they are offering 15 months for $30.00.

Being single, I don't know how much the membership would actually save me, but I was wondering how many people here use discount warehouses like BJs & Costco.

I just don't see how I would buy enough as an individual to have my cost savings in 15 months justify the $30.00 upfront cost, but the offer is oh, so tempting Smile

    I like my Costco membership. Prescriptions are cheaper and lots of things are cheaper! I don't go a lot, but it is good too for hard to find things, like everyone was sold out of Nintendo DS's for Christmas and Costco had TONS! It just seems to come in handy - oh and for cheaper gas too!

    As I am also alone I just don't use Costco enough to split a membership with anyone. Dd gave me a card for Christmas last year and I went into the store once. Peanut butter is my weakness, it's a good deal there, but how much can you consume? I suggested she pass for me this year.

    I had a Sam's card for a couple of years as a job benefit. Not much use to someone who lives along. Essentials I can buy as cheaply and more conveniently elsewhere. I would not pay for the card because the card wouldn't pay for itself in my case.

    I'm actually thinking about not renewing my membership when it expires next month. It's gone up to $50 and the only reason I would keep it now is for gas, I think. Except I don't think I save $50 on gas in a year there. I can always go in with my mother if I need something, though.

    There is a BJ close to me, but... I haven't seen the need for me to have it yet.
