2018 Financial Goals (FLUID THIS YEAR)

• I have a goal of an average 15-20 OT hours per 2 week pay period while at the current job
• Continue monthly networking events
• Revamp household budget
• Meal plan weekly in an attempt to lower all household expenses.
• Continue tracking all personal and household spending
• Complete cash only gifts/holiday spending in 2018
• Find a new job
• No new debt
• Payoff existing debt
• Post here weekly at least. Helps for accountability
• Continue 16% 401k contribution personally until new job/budget reset

Funny Money Related Obama Quote!

CNN has an article talking about Obama's Pay as You Go Plan and they quoted him as saying,

"Paying for what you spend is basic common sense," Obama said. "Perhaps that's why, here in Washington, it's been so elusive."

Please let me know what you think! I find it pretty on point with what we talk about here.

And to be honest, this pay as you go plan reminds me of that movie Dave. Anyone remember that one? The guy impersonates the president who was medically incapacitated?

The best scene was when he invited a friend to the White House. The friend was an accountant and they balanced the budget in one night over sandwiches!

There is one thing to say and another thing to practice it. Also, he has already said the the healhcare refrom will be exempt from the pay as you go model.

Please don't get me started on government spending. DH came home Monday from work...full time Army Reserves. The class was about contracts. As an example, they HAVE to purchase office supplies through the approved vendors even though Office Max down the street charges 3 times less for the same thing. The contract is inflated because the money goes to social programs. Does that make any sense? Ugh.

I am with Lux-Living . . . . it is double speak, he would have been better off to say "you get what you pay for" Apparently President Obama is a TRUE politician afterall.
