Busy Day! I have such an organizing itch & not enough time in a day!

I know its the cold weather & packing up Christmas, but I am completely itching to organize, clean & purge the house from top to bottom.

During my lunch break at work, I was looking at organizing blogs to get ideas. I am such a mess LOL

So, I worked 7am to 4pm today, ran to the liquor store and came home.

Then, I got to work on the To-Do List/house stuff for a bit Smile

-Called about balance on Medical bill - doctors office was incorrect as I suspected!
-Made appointment for wedding registry
-Ordered Bridal Show Tickets (free!)
-Paid bills
-Organize pantry
-I put a 12 pack of beers that FH received as a gift for Christmas into the fridge. Then I cut the top off the box and put my reusable bags and folding drink carriers in it. Then put it in the pantry. I LOVED the extra organization!

Here's a before & after (in the pantry)





-Worked 2 hours Overtime from home
-Ran dishwasher
-Cleaned kitchen
-Vacuum kitchen floor
-Washed out recycling bin
-Cleaned out kitchen junk drawer

I am working from home tomorrow and on my breaks/lunch, I hope to be able get some more cleaning/organizing done.

    I like that you were frugal with finding a container! Containers definitely help with keeping like things together. Enjoy your organizing.

    Nice to get pantry done and keep like-things together. Having listed all rooms like Entry/Laundry [our W/D is in a closet-like mini rm adjacent to entry], Living Rm, Dining Rm, Kitchen etc each week we give special attention to a specific room. The room being focussed gets de-cluttered and deep cleaned one shelf, one drawer, one cupboard/cabinet at a time in 20 minute bites. It's unanticipated benefit was improved inventory and, after a couple of rotations the place is cleaner with what's needed where it's needed. Like you, I keep like-things together, even label shelves if DH or DKs need help finding stuff.

    It was very helpful to have a couple of family 'policies.' When we downsized from house to condo, we had to limit clothes to fit the closets and bureaus. The standard is 12 hangers for every foot of closet rod for example. Items that are broken, in need of repair or parts get dated with a strip of masking tape. If not repaired in 2 pay cycles, it's re-purposed, recycled, donated when appropriate or most often trashed. Most difficult is technology over taken by better products. Our community has several programs to give functioning TVs, phones and laptops to others who bless your generosity.
