Woman with a Plan!

October 5th, 2009 at 09:19 am

Happy Monday All!

If you haven't already noticed, I am a fan of lists and plans. Following them is always a challange though, because I don't like being told what to do. Even if I'm the one doing the telling! LOL

I have a spending plan, meal plan and workout plan for this week. While at work today, I made a little chart on paper:

In other frugal news:

- My heat is still off. I even had the windows open for a few hours yesterday.

- Most of my entertainment (other than planned events) has come in the form of books and movies borrowed from the library & new Fall shows on tv.

- I'm packing all my food for work & saving a bundle

- The addition of exercise into my routine has helped me sleep better and have more energy. Hopefully, in the near future, it will help with some of my health issues.

- The laundry I'm doing tonight will not need the dryer, so all of it will be line dried in the spare room.

I like the way you have these laid out!

LOL, I love the way you describe yourself in the first paragraph--it sounds just like one of my best friends, except he's way more extreme. He loves making really elaborate plans that control every aspect of things, but in reality he likes just doing what he feels like at the moment, so he seldom follows his plans.

Have you read "Getting Things Done"? In typical me fashion, I started the book but haven't finished it, but just the part I read was very informative about creating several key areas to place information (hint: get it out of your head and put it somewhere you know you're going to check) and about how to categorize the things you need to do and how to break them out into bite-sized tasks so you don't get overwhelmed.

AS for awhile was enamored of a Web site called "Remember the Milk," which helped her organize her sewing jobs and other tasks. I haven't checked it out, but someday I do want to find one place that works to store all my to-do info. When I did that for my money info, it changed my life!

HH, Love the lists. I envy your organization!

CeeJay, I read the Getting Things Done book and loved it! Especially the idea of putting your to-do list in contexts (phone, errands, etc.) so I always know what I should be working on.

Slow and steady wins the race...

Yeah, very nice to have it all laid out.

I have also read Getting Things Done a few times, but I sound like CeeJay's friend.

"Fail to plan, plan to fail." It looks to me like you are in no danger of failing. Big Grin
